IMA EVENT: ADAAA and FMLA Update
Ditka's Restaurant, Two MidAmerica Plaza, Oakbrook Terrace, IL
8:00 - 11:00 a.m. Managing Reduced Manufacturing Workforces Under the New Rules. The FMLA was amended in 2008 and yet again this past October. The ADAAA amended the ADA last year, and the final regulations are imminent. What does all of this mean for manufacturers who are doing their best to manage with a reduced workforce as they struggle to move past the depths of the economic recession? This 2.5 hour advanced level seminar will provide attendees with an understanding of the fundamental shifts in how these laws impact leave of absence management. After a review of the changes (some actually good for employers, others good for employees) the briefing will walk through useful checklists to propose realistic and practical solutions to real life problems from manufacturing-based workplaces. IMA-MIT Event - Time Management and Personal Effectiveness Skills
DePaul University O’Hare Campus, 3166 S. River Road, Des Plaines, Il. 60018 [ LOCATION MAP ]
Companies are asking less people to do more work and do it faster at a higher level of quality. This necessary, and tremendously difficult requirement, does not appear likely to change any time soon as we work through our challenging global economic situation. There is no easy or simple solution for those employees dealing with this ever increasing workload. The bottom line for most organizations is; the work "must" get done, get done timely and get done right. Increasingly, organizations are looking to provide a "lifeline" for their employees and equip them with the skills and knowledge to effectively manage their personal effectiveness in order to dramatically improve their productivity while coping with the resulting stress.

IMA-MIT Event - Customer Service Skills and Exellence
DePaul University O’Hare Campus, 3166 S. River Road, Des Plaines, Il. 60018 [ LOCATION MAP ]
It’s not just you. It’s a fact. Customers are more demanding today than ever before! Complaints to Better Business Bureaus and state regulatory agencies are at an all time high, and growing! The words “may I speak to your supervisor?” are heard with increased regularity, urgency and intensity. Statistically, a dissatisfied customer will tell on average 12 people about their negative service experience and 91 will stop doing business with the company altogether. Unfortunately for many organizations in today’s highly competitive business environment, superior products and new technology, even though necessary, are no longer the only critical core differentiators. Study after study indicates that World Class Customer Service will provide the most valued differentiator between your organization and the competition. Rather than just responding to the customer’s request or demand, the most effective customer service professionals strategically gain control of the inquiryremember it is not just telephone calls anymore, accurately predict the customer’s position and proactively provide the desired results in advance. This approach requires moving from the more traditional reactive customer service mode to a proactive diagnosing and problem solving strategy.
